Someone argued with me that 'trans women will create an unfair playing field due to their skeletal structure allowing for the greater generation of power through the hips'. I then argued what's the point of their male skeletal structure if it's only supported by female muscle mass? A structure based on poor foundation would put them at a disadvantage anyway... I was then told that things like height differences alone isn't a catch-all advantage because the generation of 'explosive' power is the most beneficial form in sports apparently, that the ability to generate power is far more beneficial that straight muscle mass.
I admit, I don't have a full appreciation of just how critical the skeletal structure is to this conversation. If that is actually the case, why not just segregate sports by ability to generate power, regardless of gender? In fact, how does one objectively measure the ability to generate power? This sounds like a grey area... Thoughts?
