Appeasers gonna appease: The Threat Of Communist China
The Threat Of Nazi Germany speech from 1934 (five years before Hitler kicked off) by Sir Winston Churchill outlined the threat of Nazi Germany.
If you heard this speech today without context, it could be assumed the speaker was describing the Chinese Communist Party.
Appeasers screech for peace at all costs. The appeased thank them for the time they provide to prepare. The rest of us are branded ‘warmongers’ and suffer the terrible cost of inaction.
The lesson of Churchill’s wilderness years is that demonising those with unpopular points of view led to the unchecked rise of the “most soul destroying tyranny which ever blackened the pages of history”.
Appeasers today do the same thing. They use new words. They railroad arguments by saying other states are just as bad. While there is a level of truth to this claim, the fact remains that a communist dictatorship who believes in their divine place in the world spells trouble for liberal democracy.
Our country isn’t lucky enough to have a modern Churchill, Roosevelt or Curtin to stand up to enemy and ally alike.
We have a political class which are bought and paid for.
We have a state which bends the knee.
The lessons of history have not been learned.
Appeasers gonna appease :(
