I recently submitted the following essay to my university. Feedback from my assessor are in italics and brackets:

The Catholic Thought on the human person is correct, but it is not the solution for how to live a good and happy life with the transgender position

(This, in itself, is an intriguing proposition. I am curious as to how you’re going to reconcile the two conjectures.)

On gender theory, Pope Francis reaffirmed that “biological sex and the socio-cultural role of sex (gender) can be distinguished but not separated”.[1] This is contrary to the increasingly mainstream view that transitioning genders is…

Gigi Foster is a professor with the School of Economics at the University of NSW. She recently penned an opinion piece about how unsafe lockdowns are. Here is the highlight:

“[The letting rip of] Costs of locking down must be weighed against the projected [and unsafe] benefits, with nothing ever known for certain but best guesses made in the wide range of areas directly affected by [unsafe] lockdown policies.

These costs include [letting rip] the loss of happiness due to [unsafe] loneliness from social isolation, [letting rip] the crowded-out healthcare for [unsafe] problems other than COVID, [letting rip] the long-term…

The philosophical anthropology of the human person as a psychosomatic unity cannot be reconciled with the transgender position on the human person

Sydney-based blogger and University of Notre Dame Master of Liberal Arts student Dana Pham, has described her pre-gender transition teenage life as follows:

“Fights with my parents became more frequent, and I was throwing tantrums in the classroom and getting into fights with other boys, constantly losing control of my temper. My gender dysphoria worsened during high school. The more…

If the newly established colony of New South Wales was to be anything more than a half-stranded British outpost, dependent on an incredibly tenuous supply chain to the other side of the world, people were going to have to do more than idly hoe the miserable crops on Government Farm and forage for berries in the bush.

Enter James Ruse, the father of Australian agriculture, who showed that it was possible for an ordinary settler to support themself by farming on the land Down Under. Ruse, a convicted burglar from Cornwall, seemed intent on starting a new life in the…

If you do a Google search for the words ‘Catholic’ and ‘transgender’, this is the first search result: https://lifeteen.com/blog/catholic-church-wants-transgender-community-know/. It appears that the author of the article hasn’t been active on social media for the past few years, but seeing that the article is easily searchable via Google, I thought I’d give it a response.

Christina emphasised thoughout the piece that God doesn’t make mistakes. I don’t think anyone (including trans people) is saying that God made a mistake in trans people. Gender dysphoria is a medical condition that can be dealt with (nature makes mistakes, probably), just as any…

Janet Daley, from The Telegraph in the UK, recently wrote a piece titled ‘How modern democracy has given rise to lockdown totalitarianism — The expectations that an omniscient state can prevent every death has led us down a dark path’. Janet’s argument was that the political culture of Western democracies has changed in recent decades so that there is “the belief that the state is now morally responsible for all outcomes…the state must promise not just the best healthcare it can provide, but a kind of immortality.” And here in Australia, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation is enforcing this culture.

Throughout…

Yesterday morning, LifeChoice Sydney ran a humble stall at the USyd Camperdown campus to invite respectful discussion and debate on the topic of ‘abortion ends a human life’. I know this pro-woman pro-child crowd — they just wanted to reach out to those who may not necessarily agree with their pro-life stance. Isn’t university suppose to be a place of freedom of intellectual inquiry? Of course, the University of Sydney Women’s Collective (WoCo) was not going to have any of it. Yesterday night Medium blogger Chriscoveries published his first-hand account of the counter protest that unfolded. …

“The trouble they make for others backfires on them.” — Psalm 7:16 (NLT)

Despite popular belief, we have a religious discrimination issue in the West. Bar-Ilan University’s Jonathan Fox has undertaken a painstaking analysis proving this, and Australia isn’t immune. He singled out Australia out for the recent rise of socially-based discrimination against religious minorities, especially against Jews and Muslims. The Executive Council of Australian Jewry similarly warned of a recent significant rise in anti-Semitic incidents. …

Donald Trump’s voter fraud claims will be very difficult to prove to the legal standard necessary for any court to agree with. A US State where the President lost could decide to not send its electors to the electoral college, thereby preventing Joe Biden from getting the numbers - something they could technically do on suspicion of fraud even if it’s not proven beyond reasonable doubt. If this was to happen, then the President will be chosen by a vote of the US House of Representatives where each State votes as a bloc. …

“We all of us suffer from fear. I am suffering from it at the present moment, but I should be a coward if I sat down and did not say what I feel.” — RAdm Tufton Beamish CB DL

I confess, I am more susceptible than most to (non-physical) trauma, especially interpersonal trauma. Especially when I’m facing difficulty in life that I didn’t ask for, and people don’t like the way I deal with it. The more raw the trauma, the more it drives me to either fight against it harder, or flee from it faster. …
